The winter months have kept us busy in the best way possible, and we’re long overdue for a newsletter! So from important updates (such as price changes and a possibly a new phone number?) to some updates many of you already know about (such as scheduling woes and a new massage table), read on to find out all the important updates you’ll need to know about what’s happening at Bliss
PRICE INCREASE
We know how expensive it is to live these days, and it’s one of the reasons we truly appreciate your commitment to your health! Bliss has always strived to offer quality care at an affordable rate so that you don’t have to choose between your electricity and your stress levels. That being said, we’ve also been budgeting and cutting costs as we can to meet the inflated surge of utilities and supplies it takes to keep Bliss running each day … and lately that’s been a losing battle. Our entire menu will see a small price increase to help us meet these regular expenses.
Thank you for your understanding.
The new prices will go into effect June 1st to allow us time to notify all scheduled clients of these changes
TRICKY SCHEDULING
The lsat several emails we’ve sent asked you to book ahead as our calendar is filling up … and you all listened! We are so excited to see our 2nd month in a row that is COMPLETELY booked! While this is great news for us, we understand this can also be frustrating as you have longer wait times, rescheduling pretty much means skipping a visit, and getting on our schedule can feel like a forever-long wait!
This is a bit unprecedented as we’ve always maintained a busy schedule, but never to this degree and never going into the warmer months where cabin-fever, vacations, holidays, and festivities tend to slow our business down. We are looking at options to help alleviate some of the stress from our calendar, but in the meantime please know your schedule a month or two out as we are currently booking into early May for daytime appointments and into June for evenings and weekends.
If you’d like to maintain regular appointments, please try to schedule multiple visits to ensure you’re able to get the timeframe you’d like. Most importantly, please be kind – we don’t like telling you that you can’t see us when you want to, so there’s no need to take your frustrations out on us and such behavior will not be tolerated.
OUR NEW TABLE IS **FINALLY** HERE!
This is a saga that has been going on since August of last year, but we are so happy to let you know that our new, upgraded massage table has arrived and has been enjoyed by many clients already! After such a frustratingly long time waiting for its arrival, we wanted to take a moment to let you know what makes this table so unique –
- Conforma-lux Moving Chest Piece
Have you ever been laying face down for your massage and felt a pull between your shoulders that just gets uncomfortable the longer you lay there? Now with the push of a button we can recess the chest portion of the table to a customized degree (as demonstrated to its extreme above with the blue hot stones) that allows your chest more room, alleviating the strain from your back. We were expecting this to be a feature more geared towards women, but we’re delighted to see how many men have enjoyed this too!
- Dual Zone Table Warmer
We’ve always offered a table warmer that can be adjusted to a lower or higher heat for your comfort during your massage. With this embedded warmer, you can now also choose if you want just your upper body or just your lower body to be warm – making this the perfect benefit for those with chronically cold toes!
- EarthConnect EMF protection
Do you ever feel overstimulated from technology where you just want to slide your toes in the grass for a while? Reconnecting with the earth is known as ‘grounding’ in meditation practices, and thanks to a copper wire that runs through this table to the black band across the mattress (as seen in photos above), it comes with a blocker to prevent your body from absorbing all the electric waves as you receive your massage. We can now have the benefit of modern technology while still helping you to feel fully unplugged.
- Flow Tech Hydraulics
As with our old massage tables, this table is also hydraulic to where it moves in ways comparable to a hospital bed – not only can we adjust the height of the table itself up and down, but both the head and feet incline to customizable positions (as shown to the extreme in the above photo). This allows us an easier time adjusting the table for a variety of conditions – prenatal, gastrointestinal, sinus congestion, dizziness, edema, post-op, limited mobility, etc. Thanks to its “whisper quiet” technology, and the seamless design of the table, you’ll barely notice the movements as we adjust you to be more comfortable.
- And So Much More…
The remote controls that adjust the table are wireless, making a less-cluttered, more-calming look as you enter the room. We haven’t found a use for them yet, but there are two outlets in the table. The mattress is replaceable meaning we’ll be able to provide a comfortable environment for our clients for years to come. And the height range of the table is better, allowing us to physically feel better while we work!
With such an amazing new table, why did we only get one when we have two massage rooms? Well, for starters … it was expensive. Given that our old tables have lasted 20+ years, it was a worthy investment, but one that we could only afford to upgrade to one at a time. Second, we wanted to make sure that both we and our clients loved it before we upgraded – while we’re 99% happy with it, it does have a couple of flaws that we’re not so impressed with (mainly, the people who designed it decided the head of the table was the best place to put all the motors and buttons for some reason, and that has affected how some clients feel about the new position of the head-rest pillow). Finally, it takes roughly 45 days to get the table from the time we order it, and when we say this table is heavy we’re talking 300+ lbs! Ordering the first one was a bit of a learning experience (at the detriment to our poor friend who nearly broke his back trying to help us move it in). The 2nd one is going to take some strategy and planning on how and when we’re going to get it, but we do hope to have both tables matching by the end of this year.
A NEW WAY TO GET IN TOUCH?
A note from Amanda, the owner –
Way back in 2016 I made a lot of mistakes as a newbie entrepreneur (like most new businesses do, I think). One of the big ones was my attempt to cut costs by using my personal cell as Bliss’ office number. While this worked for many years, the busier we’ve gotten the worse this mistake has become. I’ve been woken up at 1am from calls, received texts in the middle of a family crisis, gotten phone calls in the middle of the woods where service shouldn’t even be possible, and more … don’t get me wrong, I love to hear from you all but the lack of a work-life balance can be draining! These issues have amplified the last few years after Lauren joined Bliss. Not only are we busier but it’s clear that with two of us at Bliss and a phone on site only part time, problems are going to creep up from that. Lauren has graciously used her personal number a few times, but now that she’s starting to get calls on weekends and holidays too, it’s far past time I resolve this.
Seems like an easy problem to fix, right? Tech has vastly opened the doors for this sort of thing now – from landlines, to cell phones, to apps for virtual calling … we’re looking for an affordable option that still lets you call or text us, but also something that let’s us both have access to the phone at any time (ex: I frequently use Mondays as an in-home catch up day, so a landline-type set up isn’t the best option). I think I finally found an affordable solution that could work for us. We’re going to test it out a little bit to make sure it’s the right fit so stay tuned as we hope to have more news soon!
